My Race for Life training started out very well. The enthusiasm was there, the intentions were there, the “want to do it” was there, heck I even went and bought myself some running "gear" (I can find a shopping opportunity in the most obscure places); some headphones that don't fall out, a nice pink water bottle and a lovely pink strap-around-my-arm thing that holds my phone. The only thing that wasn’t there was the stamina. In fact it was, and still is, about as far away from being “there” as it’s possible to be.

But I’ve had a nice little surge in donations to my “Sponsor me” page recently, including £50 from a very generous Anonymous donnee (if by any small chance you happen to be reading this, a huge thank you goes out to you J), and with the surge of donations comes a fresh wave of enthusiasm and desire to raise as much money as I can for those who desperately need the lifesaving treatments, medications, care, support and expertise that Cancer Research UK provides.

Rather shamefully I am already thinking of excuses to not have to go for a run tonight but the coast road is simply stunning to run along and with a sky as blue as this (*looks dreamily out of the window*) it would be a crime not to take advantage of it. Plus I don't want to let down those who have already sponsored me. All that remains for me to do is download an album suitable for getting me motivated and keeping me there, and I'm all set.
