Getting to Know Me

If you read my 20 for 20 post way back at the beginning of the year, you’ll know that one of the things I wanted to do this year was write 100 facts about myself. Not really sure why I wanted to do this, but I thought it might be fun. And I thought it would be a good way for you guys to find out a bit more about the girl behind the laptop.

I’ve split the 100 facts into four and I plan to upload one every few months. I had planned to do one every quarter but somehow March came and went without me really knowing what on earth was going on (ditto for April) and so I find myself in May, uploading a post that was scheduled for March!!

Anyways, here are 25 facts about yours truly:

1.     I was born in the East End of London on 15 May
2.     At 02:22
3.     It was a Tuesday
4.     I weighed 7lbs 9oz
5.     My middle name is Elizabeth
6.     I didn’t start eating vegetables until I was 20
7.     And I still don’t like salad
8.     Although I wish I did because in the summer salad looks and smells so good
9.    My favourite type of potato is mashed potato, but they have to be perfectly smooth and lump-free
10. The only placed I’d accept lumpy mash from is a pie and mash shop because, well, it’s a pie and mash shop and their mash is supposed to be lumpy isn’t it?
11.  My favourite housework job to do is the ironing
12.  My favourite place on earth is Magic Kingdom
13.  Specifically standing at the top of Main Street just as you enter and you can see Cinderella’s castle at the end waiting to transport you to another land
14.  Only Fools & Horses would be my specialised subject if I ever appeared on Mastermind
15.  I passed both my driving test and my theory test the first time
16. The episode “Doomsday” of Doctor Who (with David Tennant and Billie Piper) still brings a lump to my throat even though it aired more than a decade ago!
17.  David Tennant is my favourite Doctor ….
18.  So much so that I dragged my husband to Stratford-upon-Avon so I could see him in Hamlet
19.  Despite being a girly-girl I prefer action films to chick-flicks
20.  I cried my eyes out when I read A Thousand Splendid Suns, and I was on the train coming home from work at the time
21.  I had never missed my stop on the train in all the years I commuted to work, until 2 days before leaving when I went out with my boss and got drunk!
22.  The older I get the longer my hangovers take to kick in (although I’m not sure if this is just part of getting old!)
23.  An English Breakfast is one of my favourite meals
24.  But my most favourite ever meal is chicken, pasta and pesto
25.  Once I’ve had a few (a LOT of) drinks, I end up on JD & coke

OK so there’s instalment number 1….look out for instalment number 2 coming soon(ish)…probably 😊

Look after yourselves and stay safe.
